Plaintiff’s Lawyers Group Honors Craig M. Peters

11/20/2018 | Daily Journal
The November 20th edition of the Daily Journal, California’s most significant legal news outlet, includes an article recognizing partner Craig M. Peters for his work on Doe v. Mazda Motors of America Inc., RG14723293 (Alameda Super. Ct., filed April 1, 2016). Craig was awarded the honor of Consumer Attorney of the Year at the Consumer Attorneys of California’s 57th Annual Convention.

The jury verdict against Mazda Motor of America Inc. for a defective seatback design that left a woman paralyzed after a rear-end collision holds the company accountable and shines a spotlight on the need for change to the federal law. The standards for auto seatbacks haven’t changed at NHTSA since 1974.

Consumer Attorney of the Year is awarded to a CAOC member or members who significantly advanced the rights or safety of California consumers by achieving a noteworthy result in a case. The winners are determined by a vote of CAOC’s Board of Directors.
